The Hornet grapplers attended the MHSAA 24-3 Individual District event at Michigan Center High School.
At the end of the day, the Hornets had 2 District Champion and 5 additional regional qualifiers.
At the 119# weight class Calvin Kittendorf defeated his opponent from Onstead with a fall (1:10) to take home the district championship.
At the 130# weight class Luke Mahaney did not make the call in the finals due to injury to take home the 2nd place finish.
At the 152# weight class Max McCutcheon fought his way back to the consolation finals and lost to his opponent from Leslie 5-1 to take home the 4th place medal.
At the 215# weight class Zach Painter (Fr) defeated his Sr opponent from Blissfield in a 5-0 decision to take home the district championship.
At 103#, the Hornets had two grapplers entered in the event. Greg Dion advanced to the Finals before losing to Dundee’s wrestler to take home the 2nd place medal. Jack Chambers fought his way back to the consolation finals where he fell to Dundee’s second entry to take home the 4th place medal.
At 112#, Ryker Johnecheck recovered from his quarterfinal loss against the eventual champion from IDA to take the consolation finals victory against his opponent from Perry and a 3rd place medal.
